Eremization

Eremization refers to any process that transforms a living creature into an inanimate object—other than simply killing, which technically transforms the creature into a corpse. Well known forms of eremization include ylifaction, transmutation into an immobile statue (which includes petrifaction, transmutation to stone); teifaction, transfiguration into some other object like an article of furniture; and pexis, or "suspended animation". Eremization may or may not kill the subject in the process; if not, it is said to be achretic.
- This page is a temporary stub, because the concept that it covered came up enough to be worth explaining but we haven't had time to write a full article about it. It will eventually be replaced by a more in-depth article.
