Taxonomy refers to a system of classification, generally into hierarchical categories. Significant taxonomies include:
- Etorical taxonomy, the most widespread system of classification of living things
- Alpha taxonomy, the part of etorical taxonomy concerned with the naming and description of species
- Beta taxonomy, the part of etorical taxonomy concerned with fitting species into broader categories
- Gamma taxonomy, the part of etorical taxonomy concerned with the relations between taxa
- Linguistic taxonomy, a system of classification of languages
- Carminical taxonomy, a hierarchical classification of spells of some particular taxon
