Chloanthesis is a form of darsis in which a child creature is split off from a much larger parent, the latter remaining mostly unchanged by the process. It is sometimes informally called budding, but that term more technically refers to a form of reproduction in which the parent splits off a genetically identical copy; in chloanthesis more generally, the child may be very different from the parent despite beginning as part of it.
- This page is a temporary stub, because the concept that it covered came up enough to be worth explaining but we haven't had time to write a full article about it. It will eventually be replaced by a more in-depth article.
