Ylifaction

Ylifaction is the transformation of an object, especially a living creature, into an immobile block of some substance while retaining its shape. There are specific words for ylifaction into specific substances; the best known form is petrifaction, turning to stone, while other relatively common forms include aurifaction, turning to gold; cerefaction, turning to wax; and gelefaction, turning to ice.
