January 8, 2013: The First World of the Week
I wish I could say things with the Wongery are proceeding according to plan, but the fact is that they're going much slower than planned, though perhaps due rather to an excess of ambition than a dearth of industry. We're not getting nearly as much done as we'd like to have by now. I said in the previous post that between us, the Grandmaster Wongers were going to try to get at least one new article a day. That... didn't even come close to happening.
Perhaps it was a mistake to launch the site just before the holidays, which were, after all, a very busy time. But then, we didn't want to miss our promised deadline of "late 2012". Anyway, it's up now, and... it may not be much to look at at the moment, but we're going to do the best we can to keep working on it and polishing it.
Be all that as it may, we have managed to launch one feature: introducing the Wongery World of the Week! The worlds highlighted in this feature are not created by or otherwise affiliated with the Wongery; they're just imaginary worlds found elsewhere that we thought deserved more attention. There's more about the idea behind the World of Week here. The first World of the Week is an interesting bit of speculative biology called Snaiad.
Actually, we'd intended to launch this feature Monday morning, but that, uh, didn't end up happening. Still, we're going to try to get new Worlds of the Week up on Monday from here on out. If you have any suggestions for future Worlds of the Week, please feel free to suggest them on the forum! We've got a few ideas for future Worlds of the Week lined up, but we can always use more suggestions!
