February 14, 2026: Daily NPC—Erangi Wolow

Among the diverse cultures represented in Nungunny are many different languages, many different cuisines, many different kinds of clothing... and many different styles of music. Probably no one has mastered every type of music immigrants have brought to Nungunny... but Erangi Wolow has probably come closer than anyone. Loving both music and learning about different nations and cultures since he was a small child, Wolow studied among master musicians of many peoples, and now he is able to play at least thirty different instruments and music from at least that many different countries. In fact, he has innovated ways of playing multiple instruments at once; he is far from the first person to perform as a "one-man band", but he has devised several completely different arrangements of instruments with which he does so. Wolow has not limited himself to only learning and performing pre-existing pieces, but composes original music of his own, often synthesizing two or more seemingly incompatible styles into something novel and distinctive. Indeed, he has become known as much for his composition as for his performance.

And he has become known; Wolow's music has won him recognition and renown all over Lüm and far beyond. His compositions are performed all over Curcalen, and he is frequently invited to perform at prestigious venues and exclusive affairs. But while others might leverage such fame to attain riches and move to some more upscale neighborhood, Wolow still considers Nungunny his home. He lives relatively modestly in a house in West Nungunny, donates much of the money he earns to charity, especially to causes related to music education or the preservation of musical works and practices from the past, and can often be found roaming the streets of Nungunny playing multiple instruments, asking no money and doing his performance purely for the delight of the crowd and his own artistic satisfaction.

Erangi Wolow is a rangy man with long fingers and a long neck. He has dark brown skin and curly black hair he keeps in neat braided rows, and has a broad face with a flat nose and expressive eyebrows. Wolow's speech, appropriately, has a musical quality, with wide variation in pitch and cadence; his voice is full and retains a strong Kumbuguri accent. Wolow's wardrobe is weighted toward the color red; he usually wears loose, thin, comfortable trousers and long shirts embroidered with musical motifs.
