February 4, 2026: Daily NPC—Nassie Wauld
The glut of adventurers in Claystone Heights leads to whole cottage industries catering to them—trainers, healers, suppliers, and more. Nastori "Nassie" Wauld falls into this category; she is a promoter and manager of adventurers, working to keep her galliard clients in the news and in the public eye, and trying to ensure they're always portrayed as positively as possible. Wauld has a reputation as something of a braggart, but then she may have reason to be; when she boasts of her successes and her connections, she isn't lying. She represents some of Lüm's most famous and respected galliards' guilds and several members of the Heroes' Council, but is also always on the lookout for promising new talent to nurture into greatness, taking especial enjoyment in finding some up-and-coming adventurer of little experience but exceptional potential and helping them get the connections and training they need to rise to riches and renown.
Wauld has close relationships with editors at all the city's major newspapers, as well as many periodicals published elsewhere, and also with a number of playwrights and performers who she can cajole into incorporating mention of her clients into their works. She lives in a huge mansion built against the old city wall; despite her wealth she chose to make her home in the middle-class neighborhood of Claystone Heights rather than a more upscale area like Northshore or Otter Lake, preferring to be in the middle of the action where she has the best opportunity to encounter potential clients.
Nastori Wauld is a plump gray-haired woman who walks with a bouncy gait. She has a button nose, prominent crow's feet, and one bright blue and one violet eye—this last is a magically-induced affectation; she was not born heterochromic. Wauld naturally has a somewhat squeaky voice that can rise to a piercing keen on emphasized syllables, but when speaking in front of an audience or on occasions that require particular gravitas she can pitch her voice down and assume a more even tone. She likes to dress ostentatiously in colorful gowns and tunics festooned with feathers and jewels.
