An all too familiar figure to the residents of Newbridge, Caraia Vellici is a street preacher who wanders the neighborhood proclaiming the word of the Reaching Gods. Her stentorian voice can be heard from a block away loudly calling upon people to prostrate themselves before the Reaching Gods and enter their service. It helps that Vellini has some ability with magic that she uses in what she claims are demonstrations of her gods' power. Most of the people she talks with recognize that her feats are products of mortal magic and not miracles, but perhaps a few are taken in—including Vallici herself, who seems to be completely convinced that her powers are gifts from her gods.

Vellini neither receives nor solicits donations from the people she preaches to, nor does she have any other job that gives her a source of income. She does, however, receive money from devotees of the Reaching God who approve of what she is doing and want to support her efforts. It should be noted that not all devotees of the Reaching God do approve of what she is doing; many members of her church consider her an annoyance that does more to harm their cause than to help it. Still, she has enough wellwishers to provide for her sustenance and allow her to afford the materials for the homemade flyers and religious literature she hands out during her harangues.

Caraia Vellici is a lanky, long-jawed woman with skin well tanned from the sun. Her crooked nose and the missing bit of her left earlobe hint at a violent past of which she never speaks. She preaches in a loud, singsong voice, punctuating her words by raising her arms into the air, sometimes with handmade signs and sometimes empty. She is usually seen wearing a coarse tan robe colorfully handpainted with religious symbology.
