Luc Le Danh is an artist who creates unusual paintings and sculptures that are on the strange side even for Rosemary Hill. She works with various media, painting not with traditional oils and watercolors but with various juices, bloods, and other exotic materials, and sculpts not just with clay and wood but with bone and molded glass. Her artworks are impressionistic but not entirely abstract, depicting all sorts of alien landscapes and weird creatures. Besides the art she makes in her studio, though, she is often seen walking through the streets of the Hill painting lines and patterns on streets and buildings, apparently part of some larger artistic project that encompasses most of the neighborhood. Luc has a friendly and cheerful demeanor, and is well-liked by most other residents of the Hill, even those who aren't fond of her bizarre artistic creations.

What most people who know her don't realize is that in addition to an artist, Luc Le Danh is a powerful mage, and a member of Dhaol Dwr, one of the secretive wizard covins that wields power behind the scenes on Curcalen. She settled in Rosemary Hill because she appreciated that much of the community here shared her love for the odd and outlandish. Luc's aesthetic impulses are genuine, and most of the bizarre works of art she creates are just that—works of art, weird but with no special powers or deep significance beyond the impressions it evokes in the viewer. This is not, however, the case with her street art project. The seemingly random markings she paints on the streets and buildings of the Hill are in fact all part of a huge and intricate sigil, with which she hopes one day to call forth a great and powerful entity from another plane, one that will do much to shape the world—or at least this part of it—in ways accordant with Dhaol Dwr's designs.

Luc Le Danh is a small, spidery woman who walks with long strides that make her almost seem to float. She has a sharp face with a small nose and dark, wavy hair. She dresses in seemingly a completely different outfit every day, although she favors very dark colors and lots of jewelry, usually decked out in multiple rings and bangles and diadems.
