The Wongery

February 23, 2026: Daily NPC—Eiril Leuhaven

Like any big city, Lüm has its share of crime, from fraud and pickpocketing to abuse and murder. The city guard may do their part to fight it, but there are some cases that they are unable to solve or that for whatever reason they are not best positioned to do so. Where the city guard fails, others may fill the gap, and Eiril Leuhaven is one of those. A famous private investigator with a long record of success and a diverse list of clients—including occasional consulting work for the city guard themselves—, Leuhaven got their start tracking down art thieves for the museums of the Arts District, but when their talents became apparent they were approached for other kinds of cases as well. Now they may be found pursuing leads all over Lüm, though they still call the Arts District home and enjoy attending plays and concerts there.

Obviously tracking down criminals can be dangerous, but recently Leuhaven has been courting danger of a rather different sort. Increasingly, they have found evidence of misdoings by some of the rich and influential of Lüm, crimes the city guard seems to have ignored, and have worked to bring these misdeeds to light and see that restitution is made for them. This has, naturally, made them some powerful enemies, though it has also made them some staunch allies among those who share their conviction that the wealthy are not immune to justice. Leuhaven knows they are walking a dangerous line, but is determined to do what they feel is right.

Eiril Leuhaven is a pale, gaunt person with hands like moths. They have a large but narrow nose, a small chin, and small but keen eyes. They speak slowly and deliberately, always slipping a lot of questions into their speech in ways that often induce their interlocutors into answering before they realize what they're asking. Unless the weather is particularly hot, Leuhaven is rarely seen not wearing their favorite tan checked long coat; under this they wear a simple shirt and comfortable trousers. They carry all manner of investigative tool in their coat's many voluminous pockets; on the rare occasion they aren't wearing it, they carry a toolbag instead.
