January 17, 2026: Daily NPC—Larner Kimblin
Of course, not everyone who lives in Rosemary Hill is an artist; the neighborhood needs butchers and shoemakers and streetcleaners and all the other workers that provide necessary services to the population. And while many of those who work these jobs do them as "day jobs" while pursuing art in their spare time, that's not true of all of them. Larner Kimblin is a case in point. A skilled carpenter and mason, Kimblin has no particular artistic inclinations but has found a profitable niche to fill in Rosemary Hill where the residents hire him to repair and reinforce the centuries-old manors they live in, patching fallen roofs, shoring up walls before they collapse, and otherwise keeping the old residences in livable shape.
Kimblin does, however, have a second job of sorts, even if it's not an artistic one. In his renovations of the old manor houses, Kimblin occasionally comes across secret doors and caches hidden in or behind the walls. He's not particularly interested in exploring those areas himself, especially since he knows they might very well have traps he's not equipped to deal with, but he'll happily sell the information to anyone who is interested. Kimblin doesn't openly talk much about this aspect of his business, but he's put the word out in certain circles, and it's not too hard to find out about if you ask around.
Larner Kimblin is a stocky man in his fifties with a wide face and straight straw-colored hair that's beginning to go gray. He has a croaky voice (that could be said to match well with his somewhat froglike face) and laughs a lot when he talks, even if there's nothing obviously funny. His usual attire is work boots and yellow overalls, even if he's not currently on the job.
