The Village Center has a variety of upscale shops, but one of the most popular with visitors is Ilmi's Ices, an ice cream shop run by an old woman named Laurami Ilmejina, with some help from the younger generations of her family. Ilmi's Ices offers a rotating variety of very exotic—and expensive—flavors to cater to the Glades' rich residents, but unlike most store owners in the Village Center Ilmejina does go out of her way to have something for less affluent visitors too, stocking some less extravagant but more affordable flavors as well. (Her hot cinnamon ice cream, when it's available, is a particular favorite of many.)

Adventurers may have a reason to visit Ilmi's Ices beyond just getting themselves a cold, sweet treat. Ilmejina's extraordinary ice cream flavors require correspondingly extraordinary ingredients, and with what she charges the Glades' inhabitants for them, she can afford to pay well for their components. Sometimes she's on the lookout for a specific unusual ingredient, and puts the word out for those who might be willing to fetch it for her, but at least as often she enjoys the challenge of finding a use for some strange substance that wouldn't normally be considered for use as an ice cream flavoring. Adventurers who have come across some rare plant or animal part or other potentially edible material that they have no use for might be able to sell it to Ilmejina as an ice cream ingredient, if they can't find another buyer for it—or can't find another buyer who's willing to match her offer.

Laurami Ilmejina is a wrinkled but vigorous woman with light brown skin. She has a rectangular head with a hawk nose and large fleshy ears, with heavy bangles dangling from her earlobes. Ilmejina has a tendency to get very close to people she's talking to, though she backs off if they express discomfort. She usually wears a beige Sarqedi khajja, a long tunic with an attached hood that covers the top of her head, and loose jeweled bracelets.
