March 11, 2026: Daily NPC—Lucreça Iemenori

Most of the people of Graypool fall into one of two categories. There are those who respect the fey and believe in the importance of honoring and placating them with tokens and ceremonies, and there are those—a smaller number, but significant—who don't believe in the fey and choose to ignore them. (Those in the first category may say that those in the second category will change their tune as soon as their inattention gets them cursed.) Lucreça Iemenori falls into a third category. She absolutely believes in the fey, but hates them and sees it as her life mission to fight against them. She hints at some past tragedy she suffered because of the fey, though she refuses to go into details. Whatever her motivations, she lives in Graypool because it seems to be here, of all places in Lüm, that the fey are most active, and she hires herself out to anyone who wants to oppose them—or sometimes goes off on missions against them on her own, perhaps hiring some helpers to go with her.

Iemenori was not popular in Graypool when she first arrived; some Graypoolers have genuine affection for the fey and were appalled by her attitude, while others whose attitude toward the fey held more fear than fondness were concerned that her actions might bring down terrible curses over the whole neighborhood. She is still not particularly popular in Graypool, but perhaps slightly more so than she was at first, less because the residents have come around to her way of thinking than that she's made some small steps in coming around to theirs. She has certainly not abandoned her quest to fight against the fey, but at least she's softened somewhat and grudgingly accepts that perhaps not all fey are bad, and on at least three occasions she's even teamed up with one or more fey to fight against a greater foe. Still, if she's not quite as dogmatic in her hatred of the fey as she once was, she still harbors a distinct antipathy toward them, and she's still more than happy to join in on any sort of quest that may involve fighting them.

Lucreça Iemenori is a bony, angular woman with pale, grayish skin that seems stretched tight over her joints. She has a long nose that often twitches in anticipation, and deep, dark eyes with prominent bags beneath them. Her voice is hollow and reedy but carries, and she speaks with snappish conviction. Her usual dress comprises a long hooded cloak over a brown jerkin and soft leather trousers; she almost never goes unarmed, usually carrying weapons with special enchantments to work better against fey.
