Some of the artists of Rosemary Hill work with traditional media—paint on canvas, carved wood, etc.—but others pursue different manners of expression. Odón Garrivez's medium is human skin; he is a tattoo artist, but a tattoo artist with the emphasis on the "artist". Garrivez takes meticulous care with his tattoo designs and has developed many of his own techniques and even formulated his own inks to get the effects he wants. He considers himself a true artist, and so by and large do his customers.

The tattoos that Garrivez creates are not notable only for their appearance—though they certainly are notable for their appearance, not only for their intricacy and their craftsmanship but for the unusual colors and textures that Garrivez incorporates, including metallic inks and even lines that glow in the dark. But Garrivez is also a mage of some small skill, and can imbue the tattoos he makes with unusual magical effects. The magical tattoos usually cost extra, of course, but they are often well worth the price. Sometimes, however, Garrivez will throw in some magic in a tattoo for free, if he likes a customer or has an idea that particularly appeals to him. He won't necessarily inform the customer of this bonus gift, and it may be a surprise to them when they suddenly feel a surge of strength coming from their tattoo, or when the tattoo leaps from their body to attack an enemy.

Odón Garrivez is a slim, brown-skinned man who appears to be about twenty years of age—he's actually much older, but some his own tattoos include magic that grants him physical youth. He has a mop of black hair that somehow doesn't seem to interfere with his work when it gets in his eyes, and a habit of clicking his tongue when he's frustrated or impatient. Garrivez has of course benefited from his own work, and is nearly covered with tattoos from the neck down; he usually goes shirtless to show off his handiwork, wearing only a short dark brown kilt.
