February 24, 2026: Daily NPC—Londis Erriera
The Arts District is home to many renowned teachers and trainers of dance, music, and theater—and to the studios of many more who live in more upscale districts. One of the most renowned of the District's teachers is Londis Erriera, a dance instructor many of whose pupils have gone on to be world-famous performers. Erriera specializes in the refined dance forms of elesen and rounecia, but she is knowledgeable and talented enough to be conversant with many other forms, and creative enough to find ways to incorporate them when appropriate. Erriera started her career as a dancer herself, but found herself often helping her fellow dancers with their own techniques, and eventually decided that as much as she did enjoy the stage, she derived more enjoyment from training others to take their place there than from being there herself. She has now been a dance instructor for more than twenty years, and anyone who can truly claim to have studied under Londis Erriera is almost assured of a job as a performer.
Naturally, becoming a student of Londis Erriera is not easy. She is very selective, and accepts only those students whom she feels show true dedication to the craft and the willpower to follow through with the needed work. She charges high fees for her tutelage as well, though she has been known to waive them for students from impoverished backgrounds whom she feels show especial promise. But even once she agrees to take you on as a student, the hard part isn't over. Erriera is an extremely demanding teacher, and more than three quarters of would-be students drop out of her program after a few months at most. She is not frivolous or arbitrary; she makes her expectations very clear; but she expects them to be fulfilled to the letter. However, for those who do meet Erriera's demands and do their best to do everything she asks of them, she shows strong loyalty, and she will do almost anything for a faithful student who has lived up to what she asked of them.
Londis Erriera is a small, dark-skinned woman with a thin but muscular build. She has a ball-shaped head with a wide nose, a narrow mouth, and close-cut curly hair. Londis has a throaty voice that to many people sounds constantly angry even when she's in a good mood. While she occasionally dons more elaborate costumes to show how they work with specific dance techniques, her usual garb during her teaching sessions is a simple leotard. When out and about and not on the job, she favors long, loose smocks that still afford her freedom of movement, usually in reds or browns with purple accents.
