January 12, 2026: Daily NPC—Lord Applereigh
Most of the wealthy families that lived in Rosemary Hill moved out as the city spread around it, and most of their manors have been divided into multiple residences, but there is one notable exception. As all their neighbors sought more desireable territory elsewhere, the eccentric Applereigh family, who made their fortune through trade in magic potions, stayed put, apparently more amused than distraught by what the area was becoming. Through the generations, not all family members have shared their predecessors' tolerance for the area's transformation, and many of them have moved out to higher-class neighborhoods, but there has so far always been at least one scion of the family who stayed in the ancestral home despite the change in its surroundings.
Today, Applereigh Manor only houses one descendent of the family, a young man named Jorzan Applereigh. The locals call him "Lord Applereigh", a title given somewhat in jest since the nation of Djarvin has no actual nobility. Lord Applereigh often emerges from his manor to participate in community events, and employs many of the residents as servants, allowing them to make a sufficient living to pursue their interests when they're off the clock. He does spend considerable time ensconced alone in the depths of his manor, however, and there are rumors that he may be pursuing some kind of magical experiments. Other rumors state that Lord Applereigh may be looking for a spouse, and there are many men and women of the neighborhood (Lord Applereigh is known to be bisexual) who hope to catch his eye.
Lord Applereigh is a slender but well-built man with black hair, a heart-shaped face, and piercing green eyes. He has a melodic voice and an easy laugh, and is seldom seen without a dimpled smile. He has a large wardrobe of fine clothing, and has rarely if ever been seen to wear the same outfit twice, though he has a fondness for unusual and often clashing combinations: a spotted coat paired with striped trousers, for instance, or a thick scarf over a light, open-chested shirt.
