April 1, 2026: Streamside—Goods and Services
The many cemeteries in Streamside, some old and abandoned and others still in active use, bring many people to the neighborhood—some for funerals, others to visit the graves of deceased family and friends. Of course, some may visit the cemeteries for less savory reasons, such as to magically call forth the spirits of the dead to demand information or services, or even to harvest parts of them for necromantic or alchemical purposes.
Aside from that, the main thing that people come to Streamside for is to indulge their vices. Brothels may not operate here as openly as they once did, but they can still be found if you know where to look. Streamside also offers a few gambling halls for those who enjoy the risk, and there are places that sell drugs both legal and—again, if you know where to look—illegal. More esoteric such services are also available in secret, such as personal attention from a xrân, a demon of physical pleasure, or summoned creatures that will bind to you and provide enhancement and stimulation of one sort or another.
There are of course goods sold in Streamside connected neither to the cemeteries nor to the pursuit of pleasure, but little that can't be found elsewhere. The lake provides some fish and other seafood that can be bought here—freshwater varieties different from those caught by the residents of in Fishertown—and the forest provides its own bounty, though similar to what can be found in Graypool. For little obvious reason, however, Streamside has also become something of a center for the city's textile industry, and many come here for the fine cloths and fabrics to be found in the neighborhood's eastern end.
