February 18, 2026: East Island—Goods and Services
East Island is primarily a residential area. There are a few high-end shops around the edges of the neighborhood, but most of the wealthy inhabitants order bespoke goods delivered to them or have servants to go out and buy them what they need. (And as for the less wealthy residents, they generally have to travel to other neighborhoods to do their shopping.)
A few individual shops do stand out, however, and if the PCs have the money for it there are some things that they can get in East Island that they can't get elsewhere of comparable quality. Several East Islander tailors compete for the title of selling the finest and most stylish clothing in Lüm. Wogarth's Confections is famous for its luxury chocolates and candies. Elgamoro's sells summonable companion and servant creatures that aren't available in other parts of the city. Waterwood Creations sells unique enchanted furniture. The Golden Letters is the best place in the city to find rare books.
As for services available in East Island, while many of the moneyed residents either live on saved or inherited wealth or work outside the neighborhood, some of them are self-employed in high-paying jobs they work out of their homes or in nearby offices, and may be open to new clients—or in some cases have expertise they're willing to hire out as a hobby even if they don't need the money. East Island is home to retired explorers and world travelers who may have valuable information they may share with courteous visitors; renowned artists who may be open for sufficiently lucrative commissions; virtuosos in various kinds of magic; private physicians and other specialists. As for the less affluent residents descended from the original settlers, some of them have valuable skills as well. In particular, East Island has a reputation for having the best groundskeepers and gardeners, some of which may be willing to take on jobs elsewhere if the pay is right.
