Although the old city walls surround Claystone Heights on three sides, there are plenty of passages through the walls, and major roads link Claystone Heights through the walls to the neighboring districts of Highmarket, the City Center, and King's Hollow. On the fourth side, Claystone Heights abuts Silver Square, also connected by a broad road. There is also a train station in the neighborhood, but the train is more often used by those traveling between cities than by those traveling within Lüm.

Aside from the major roads, the streets of Claystone Heights tend to be twisted and tangled, a consequence of the irregular terrain here and the old ruins and relics the streets pass around and between. Perhaps half the streets are wide enough to accommodate coaches, if some just barely; the others are narrow and often steep alleys unsuitable for much more than pedestrian traffic.
