January 25, 2026: The Glades—Transportation

Befitting the wealth of the Glades' residents, the roads of the Glades are well maintained, paved with white tar and broad enough to accommodate the coaches and chariots within which its inhabitants usually travel. Past the Village Center, however, the roads to the manors twist among the trees, forming as they split and rejoin something of a wooded maze in which it's easy to get lost if you don't know where you're going.

Located at the edge of the city, the Glades are connected to the rest of Lüm mainly through Greenwood, an only slightly less opulent and upscale area. While the residents of Greenwood do not object to the passage through their neighborhood of the high-class Gladers and their most respectable servants, they do not like tourists and common workers going through Greenwood to get to the Glades, and while they can't legally prevent them from doing so, they do all they can to inconvenience them and make it clear they're unwelcome. Accordingly, most of the less respectable traffic to the Glades from the rest of the city goes through the Grindle, a narrow recessed strip to Greenwood's west.
