February 22, 2026: Daily NPC—Liskett Hauli
Now retired and living in East End off the fortune she made in her career, Liskett Hauli made a name for herself as one a champion cleper, a competitor in the sport of clepery in which participants face summon otherplanar creatures off against each other. She still calls forth the creatures that she used in her matches, but now no longer to fight, treating them as beloved pets and companions. She occasionally trains up-and-coming clepers that show considerable promise, but spends most of her time now either relaxing in her mansion or consulting with planar explorers and xenetorists who might benefit from her experience with her creatures.
From time to time, a cocky young cleper has come to challenge Hauli to a clepery match, hoping to show their prowess by defeating such a renowned champion. Not interested in defending any title, Hauli at first simply dismissed these challenges, but when they didn't stop she took a different tack. Now Hauli accepts such clepery challenges, but with harsh terms for the challenger: if Hauli wins, she arranges for her opponent to be essentially made summonable for clepery themself. This has discouraged most would-be challengers, but a few have persisted and agreed to the terms—and when Hauli won, as so far she always has, she followed through with the consequences. She hasn't kept any of the clepers-turned-summonables herself, having enough in her stable already and not planning on participating in much clepery anyway, but has given them away to friends and students.
Liskett Hauli is a solidly-built woman with bushy eyebrows and long brown hair. She has a flat face with a pointed nose and very dark eyes. She speaks in a somewhat scratchy voice, tending to use a lot of clepery jargon even when talking about unrelated matters. Hauli has some dile ancestry, but enough generations backed that it's not completely obvious; she has unusually hairy legs, spots on her torso, and gill slits below her ribs, but none of those features are visible when she's clothed. Hauli generally wears light shirts under loose jerkins and knee-length skirts, favoring brown and blue colors.
